Who is Jesus?

I need to begin by reminding you what the Apostle John said regarding Jesus. He stated that the world itself could not contain all of the books that would have to be written about Jesus in order to tell about everything concerning Him (John 21:25). Thus, I want to state right up front that I am merely pointing out a few of the infinite number of things that could be said about Him.

Jesus is our “Deliverer” and “Healer” (Luke 4:18; John 8:36; Matthew 4:23; Acts 10:38; Hebrews 13:8). He is our “Advocate”, “High Priest”, “Intercessor” and “Mediator” (1st John 2:1; Hebrews 3:1; Hebrews 7:25; 1st Timothy 2:5).

He is the “only way” to God and salvation (John 14:6; Acts 4:12). He is our “Friend”, “Shepherd” and “Constant Companion” (John 15:15; John 10:11; Matthew 28:20).

Jesus is our “Brother” and “Husband” (Hebrews 2:11-12; 2nd Corinthians 11:2). He is our peace, hope and strength (Ephesians 2:14; 1st Timothy 1:1; 2nd Corinthians 12:9; Philippians 4:13).

He is our “Judge” and “Messiah” (John 5:22; 2nd Corinthians 5:10; John 4:25-26). Jesus is “Creator”, “Savior” and “Lord” (John 1:3; Colossians 1:16; 1st John 4:14; Philippians 2:9-11).

He is the “Son of God”, “King of Kings” and “Lord of Lords” (John 1:32-34; Revelation 19:16). Jesus is, in fact, “Almighty God” (Matthew 1:23; Romans 9:5; 1st Timothy 3:16; Titus 2:13; Hebrews 1:8; John 1:1; John 5:18; John 8:58; Philippians 2:5-6; John 20:28-29; Isaiah 9:6).

In short, Jesus Christ is our “Everything”: To live is Christ–Philippians 1:21; Christ is our life–Colossians 3:4; He is our Head over all things–Ephesians 1:22; We are complete in Him–Colossians 2:10; He is to have the preeminence in all things–Colossians 1:18; He is the one we are to abide in–John 15:4-5; He is the one we are to bring all of our thoughts captive and obedient to–2nd Corinthians 10:5; He is the one we are to fix our eyes upon from start to finish–Hebrews 12:2; He is the one in whom all of God’s promises are fulfilled–2nd Corinthians 1:19-20.

Although each of the subjects discussed on this website are extremely important, the subject and person of Jesus Christ is “first and foremost” at the top of the list, and there are no “close” second place finishers.  I encourage you to read the article titled, “The Glorious Gospel of Jesus Christ”, which is also posted on this website.
