Babylon is Fallen

You will find this article to be both blunt and urgent. I make no apologies. The time is at hand. I believe that we have crossed the threshold, and all Christians in this morally compromised nation, who are attending biblically compromised churches, need to demonstrate, through their words and actions, to whom they give allegiance. I ask you to read this article in its entirety, and then to pledge your allegiance to our Savior and Lord Jesus Christ above any and every other pastor, theologian, ministry, congregation, denomination, creed or human tradition. I exhort you as Joshua did the Israelites: “Choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve……..As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord” (Joshua 24:15).

Revelation 18:1-3 depicts an angel with great authority coming down from heaven and proclaiming: “Babylon the great is fallen, is fallen, and has become a dwelling place of demons, a prison for every foul spirit, and a cage for every unclean and hated bird! For all the nations have drunk of the wine of the wrath of her fornication, the kings of the earth have committed fornication with her, and the merchants of the earth have become rich through the abundance of her luxury.” Then, in Revelation 18:4-5, the Apostle John states: “And I heard another voice from heaven saying, “Come out of her, my people, lest you share in her sins, and lest you receive of her plagues. For her sins have reached to heaven, and God has remembered her iniquities.” Who or what is this “Babylon” which has apparently housed God’s people, because they are told to come out of her?

In Revelation 17:1-5, John is given a vision of a “great harlot”, of whom it is also said that she has committed “fornication” with the kings of the earth. Also, Revelation 17:5 specifically states that the name written on her forehead is “Babylon the Great, the Mother of Harlots…..” Therefore, since Babylon is depicted as being the “great harlot” in Revelation chapter 17, we can discover who Babylon is by simply identifying this harlot. And, the Bible has given us ample scriptural clues that clearly reveal her identity.

In the Scriptures, a chaste and righteous woman or bride often represents God’s faithful people/Church. In writing to the Church, the Apostle Paul declares: “I have betrothed you to one husband, that I may present you as a chaste virgin to Christ” (2nd Corinthians 11:2). Likewise, Revelation 19:7-9 also depicts Jesus Christ’s true followers as His wife, stating: “Let us be glad and rejoice and give Him glory, for the marriage of the Lamb has come, and His wife has made herself ready. And to her it was granted to be arrayed in fine linen, clean and bright, for the fine linen is the righteous acts of the saints. Then he said to me, “Write: Blessed are those who are called to the marriage supper of the Lamb!” Similarly, in Isaiah 54:5, the Bible proclaims: “Your Maker is your husband, the Lord of hosts is His name.”

Just as a chaste and righteous woman or bride represented God’s faithful people/Church in the scriptures above, even so, an impure, “harlot woman” often depicts God’s “professed people/Church” when they are unfaithful, disobedient and compromising with sin and the world. In Jeremiah 3:1 and Jeremiah 3:8, God refers to backsliding Israel and Judah, which were His Old Testament people/Church, as being “harlots” and having committed adultery. Also, in Ezekiel 16:26-39, God accuses them of being a harlot and an “adulterous wife”. He states that they committed harlotry with the Egyptians, the Assyrians and with the land of Chaldea. And, in James 4:4-5, James refers to Christians who want to be “friends of the world” as being adulterers and adulteresses.

Furthermore, Jesus is repeatedly portrayed as being the Bridegroom or Husband of His people/Church in the Bible. Jesus depicts Himself as being the Bridegroom (Matthew 9:15; Matthew 25:1-10; Mark 2:19-20; Luke 5:34-35). John the Baptist refers to Jesus as the Bridegroom (John 3:29). The Apostle Paul calls Jesus our “Husband” (2nd Corinthians 11:2). And, in Revelation 19:7-9, the Apostle John also portrays the “Lamb”, Jesus Christ, as the Husband of His people/Church.

The concept of God’s people being presented as His bride or wife is clearly taught in Scripture. When His people are faithful, they are depicted as a chaste and righteous woman. However, when they are unfaithful and disobedient, they are portrayed as an adulterous wife or “harlot”.

Therefore, we now know who Babylon represents in the book of Revelation. We already learned, in Revelation 17:1-5, that Babylon is the name of the great harlot described in this passage. Furthermore, we’ve also discovered that God’s “professed people/Church” are referred to as a “harlot” when they are disobedient and unfaithful to Him. Thus, we can say with reasonable confidence that Babylon represents Jesus Christ’s “professed followers” in the last days who have fallen into “great” disobedience and infidelity to God. I say great disobedience and infidelity because they are not just called a harlot, but a “great” harlot. At this point, in order to get a much more detailed and complete biblical presentation regarding “Babylon”, I ask you to read “part five” of my article titled “The End of the World” on this website. You will find overwhelming scriptural evidence proving that Babylon is indeed the “great harlot” pictured in Revelation chapter 17. You will also discover that this great harlot is the mother of daughter harlots, and that the totality of the churches in the last days are represented by this great harlot and her harlot daughters.

It is noteworthy that Revelation 18:3 states that the “merchants of the earth” have become “rich” through the abundance of “her” (Babylon’s or the Church’s) luxuries. This additional “earmark” of Babylon also finds remarkable fulfillment within the contemporary Christian Church. As is documented in this article and on this website, the modern Christian Church in America has become fabulously wealthy, in terms of material wealth. American churches and ministries have assets totaling hundreds of billions of dollars. It can be truly stated that the “merchants of the earth” have become rich doing business with the American Christian Church; rich selling expensive tracts of prime real estate for mega church building sites; rich constructing elaborate mega church facilities; rich selling luxurious furnishings and state-of-the-art equipment to American churches and ministries; rich selling jets, yachts, luxury automobiles and multi-million-dollar homes to preachers making six and seven-figure salaries, etc. Yes, today’s compromising and worldly churches and ministries (Babylon) have literally paid hundreds of billions of dollars to this world’s merchants, thus helping them to become “rich”.

Revelation 18:1-5 provides additional evidence that Babylon represents the churches in the last days. Why? Because, in Revelation 18:4, Christ’s “true followers” are told to come out of “her” (Babylon). Where else would Jesus’ true followers have been up until this time, but in the “churches”? However, because the churches in the last days have fallen into great disobedience and infidelity to God, to the extent that they are now referred to as a “great harlot” and as “daughter harlots”; therefore, true Christians, who want to remain obedient and faithful to Jesus, are now told to come out of the wayward, fallen churches/Babylon. True followers of Jesus must now choose between allegiance to “fallen churches” and allegiance to Jesus Christ and His word, the Bible. Thus, Revelation chapter 18 declares: “Babylon (the churches) has fallen…….and has become a dwelling place of demons……..Come out of her, my people, lest you share in her sins, and lest you receive of her plagues.”

Have we already arrived at this point today, when it is time for true Christians to come out of the churches? Has Babylon fallen? In view of all of the evidence that follows, I believe that the answer is obvious.

You know that Babylon is fallen when the Church is building hundreds of multi-million-dollar mega churches annually throughout America, while nearly six million children die from starvation each year around the world, and hundreds of thousands of Americans are homeless and eating out of garbage cans. It is appalling to know that American Christian churches could feed everyone of those starving children three meals a day throughout the year, and could build enough homeless shelters to house every homeless person in America, by giving just ten percent of their massive income for these purposes. Instead the churches in America allow the children to die, and spend the money on their own luxuries and selfish entertainment. All of this is documented in my article titled “The Gospel for Sale” on this website.

You know that Babylon is fallen when numerous preachers own their own multi-million-dollar jets, which they use to fly in lavish comfort to their meetings, so that they don’t have to endure the “grievous trial” of purchasing a plane ticket, and having to humble themselves by flying first class in a commercial airplane. It is sickening to know that the cost of just one of their private jets would provide enough food to keep nearly 100,000 starving children alive for a year.

You know that Babylon is fallen when the Church is marketing Jesus Christ’s “free gospel” of grace with 2000 percent profit margins. CD’s containing gospel sermons, which cost less than fifty cents apiece, are commonly sold for as much as twenty dollars each! The Apostle Paul, who God used to write half of the New Testament, said that he presented the gospel “without charge”, so that he did not abuse his authority in the gospel (1st Corinthians 9:18). Today’s 2000 percent profit margins being reaped by American churches certainly does not constitute presenting the gospel without charge, and surely does represent abusing their authority in the gospel, based on 1st Corinthians 9:18.

You know that Babylon is fallen when churches across many denominations are ordaining homosexual ministers and performing homosexual weddings and civil unions. How can you not say that Babylon is fallen when churches ordain and bless what God has called vile, shameful and an abomination (Romans 1:26-27; Leviticus 18:22)?

You know that Babylon is fallen when so-called “Christian universities” appoint teachers of false gods to head their religion departments, such as was recently done in Minnesota when a Hindu theologian was promoted to chairman of the religion department at Saint Olaf College, which is a Lutheran school. Would God have allowed a prophet of Baal to become the High Priest of Israel? Would the first century New Testament Church have appointed a worshipper of other gods to be an apostle in the Christian Church? We all know that the answer to these questions is a Resounding NO!! However, the contemporary Church (Babylon) has degenerated to such a point that it does the unthinkable.

You know that Babylon is fallen when professed Christian universities and seminaries teach the secular theory of evolution to their students, rather than the creation account given in the book of Genesis. Also, when Christian leaders, who still call themselves “creationists”, compromise with evolutionists by saying that the six-day creation account in the Bible represents six long time periods, each consisting of millions or billions of years; in so doing, contradicting the Bible’s clear and simple language which plainly states that each of these six days consisted of a morning and an evening; an obvious reference to a 24 hour day. Furthermore, these so-called “old earth” creationists also contradict the Bible’s statements that God “spoke” things into existence; He spoke the words and things appeared “by the breath of His mouth”. Psalm 33:6 states: “By the word of the Lord were the heavens made, their starry host by the breath of His mouth” (NIV). And, Psalm 148:5 adds, “He commanded and they were created”. Evidently these old earth creationists must think that God has a speech problem, which causes Him to speak so slowly that each word takes a million years to pronounce. The Bible is clear that God’s word is alive and powerful; He speaks things into existence. His creation was created by His spoken words, not by billions of years of time and chance.

You know that Babylon is fallen when churches revere and exalt men in defiance of the Scriptures. In Matthew 23:8-12, Jesus said that men are not to take upon themselves “religious titles”, which only serve to exalt them.  He stated that men are not to be called such titles as Rabbi, Father or Teacher. Yet messianic Jewish “Christian leaders” call themselves Rabbi, Catholic priests call themselves Father, and numerous Christian leaders throughout many denominations take upon themselves the “religious  title” of Teacher; all of this in blatant defiance of Jesus’ command in Matthew chapter 23. Furthermore, thousands of Christian ministers have the audacity to call themselves “Reverend”, although Psalm 111:9 states that “Reverend” (KJV) is His (God’s) name. According to the “Strong’s Expanded Exhaustive Concordance”, the original Hebrew word translated as “Reverend” in this passage in the King James Translation, literally means to “be afraid”, “stand in awe”, “fear”, “reverence” etc. These solemn descriptive terms apply to our appropriate response to a “Holy God”, not to mere men. And, it is reasonable to assume that other contemporary titles used to exalt today’s religious leaders, such as “Doctor”, “Master of Divinity” and “best-selling author”, would fall in the same category as the Rabbi, Father and Teacher titles which were forbidden by Jesus. He said that those who exalt themselves with these titles will be humbled (Matthew 23:12).

You know that Babylon is fallen when churches and ministries not only exalt their leaders with religious titles that were forbidden by Jesus, but also print “study Bibles” with their ministers’ names on them. What “puny men” would dare to place their names on the Holy Bible? Yet, many of them have done just that, and they will answer to God.

You know that Babylon is fallen when the Church has degenerated to the point of actually building a “statue”, which is a graven image, to a human preacher, such as was recently done with the Billy Graham statue. Although the Catholic Church has been guilty of making and revering graven images for many centuries, the Protestant Evangelical Church has now made the unfortunate decision to also compromise on this issue. The second commandment of the Ten Commandments forbids the building of “graven images” (Exodus 20:4-5), but the modern Church has degenerated to such an extent that it defies the word of God and tramples on His commandments in order to exalt mere men. Those who have made this compromise concerning the “Graham statue”, may try to excuse their sin by saying that this commandment only applies to worshipping graven images, but such an assertion is false. There are two parts to this commandment; the first part, in verse four, forbids “making” graven images; the second part, in verse five, forbids “worshipping” the images. Would the Apostle Paul, who God used to write half of the New Testament, have condoned the building of a graven image/statue to honor him? Absolutely not! Paul is the one who rebuked the Corinthian Christians for exalting men such as Apollos, Peter and himself, in 1st Corinthians 1:12-15. Paul is also the one who said that the Corinthians were behaving in a carnal manner when they were exalting Apollos and himself; moreover, he stated that he and Apollos were not anything, but that God is the one who is something (1st Corinthians 3:4-7). Furthermore, Paul is the one who tore his clothes when the people at Lystra were going to offer sacrifices to him and Barnabas (Acts 14:11-19). And, you can be sure that Paul would have acted similarly if anyone tried to erect a statue/graven image in order to honor him.  Billy Graham was a dedicated gospel preacher for many years, and I commend and respect him, but he is not worthy to be compared to the Apostle Paul, who was repeatedly beaten, imprisoned, whipped, shipwrecked, stoned and finally martyred for His faith; and, therefore, Mr. Graham also should not have a graven image/statue built in his honor.

You know that Babylon is fallen when surveys of contemporary “professed Christians” reveal that their behavior is similar to that of non-Christians. In recent years, the Barna Research Group has done numerous surveys throughout the various denominations of the American Christian Church, and has found that addiction rates, adultery, pornography, divorce rates and sinful behaviors in general rival those of the secular world. According to the Bible, this is not the way it is supposed to be. Christians are not supposed to be living like the world. The Apostle James states: “Don’t you know that friendship with the world is hatred toward God? Anyone who chooses to be a friend of the world becomes an enemy of God” (James 4:4 NIV). 1st John 2:15 declares: “Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him.” And, the Apostle Paul said: “If anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.” Therefore, based on the surveys done by the Barna Research Group, the majority of “professed Christians” in America are not truly “in Christ”. In other words, there are a lot of self-deceived people in today’s Christian churches in America.  No wonder the gospels record that many will say to Jesus, “Lord, Lord”, on judgment day, but He will tell them to depart from Him because He never knew them. In fact, the various translations state that He calls them workers of iniquity (sinners), evildoers or those who practice lawlessness (violators of God’s laws).

You know that Babylon is fallen when, in spite of the sinful conditions present in the contemporary Christian Church in America, preachers continue to preach unbiblical, seeker sensitive doctrines to a wayward Church that is spiritually asleep. At a time when America’s churches desperately need to be aroused and called to repentance by bold, pointed, urgent messages from God’s word, the vast majority of American preachers continue to sing lullabies of the “eternal security” of their parishioners who are living lives steeped in sin. It is, in fact, these kinds of unbiblical, seeker sensitive messages that are responsible for the deadly spiritual slumber that pervades America’s churches; yet, modern preachers stubbornly continue to sing their lullabies and rock the cradles of their parishioners.

Today’s ministers persist in proclaiming the unscriptural and deadly doctrine of “Once Saved, Always Saved”, telling their congregations that it is impossible for them to ever be lost, if they simply said a prayer asking Jesus into their heart at some earlier time in their life. The overwhelming weight of biblical evidence contradicts their teaching, but, unfortunately, the majority of modern preachers do not let the clearly stated truths in the Bible stand in the way of their human ideas and denominational traditions. In 1st Corinthians 9:27, the Apostle Paul acknowledged that, if he did not discipline himself and keep his body in subjection, that it was even possible for him to become “disqualified”; the original Greek word, adokimos, literally means a reprobate, castaway or someone who has become rejected or disqualified. Likewise, the author of the New Testament book of Hebrews reveals that it is possible for those who were “sanctified” to fall back into a life of sin and to await a fearful expectation of judgment and fiery indignation (Hebrews 10:26-29). So, the Bible clearly states that previously sanctified people can be lost and receive fiery indignation (hell); in fact, even the Apostle Paul, who wrote half of the New Testament, said that he could become a rejected and disqualified reprobate or castaway; nevertheless, contemporary ministers contradict God’s apostles by proclaiming that it is impossible for their parishioners to fall away, regardless of the kind of sinful lives they choose to live after their conversion. Thus, millions of compromising, backsliding “professed Christians” in America continue to feel “safe” while living lives steeped in sin. I ask you to read my article titled “Once Saved, Always Saved” on this website, where you will find dozens of clear authoritative scriptures that disprove this doctrine beyond the shadow of a doubt.

You know that Babylon is fallen when famous Christian preachers and authors proclaim the unbiblical and dangerous message that people will get a “second chance” to be saved after Jesus returns. This doctrine has been widely promulgated through the phenomenally successful “Left Behind” novel series written by Tim Lahaye and Jerry Jenkins. And, unfortunately, numerous other well-known Christian preachers and authors have joined LaHaye and Jenkins in the proclamation of this unbiblical and dangerous teaching. They proclaim that Jesus will return “twice”. They say that the first return will be a “secret rapture” of the saints, in which the unsaved will not see or hear Jesus’ coming; they teach that this secret rapture will occur before the seven-year “great tribulation” brought on by the appearance of the antichrist. They claim that the second return will occur after the antichrist’s reign during the seven-year tribulation period on earth, during which people will have a “second chance” to accept Jesus as their savior and lord, and to be saved; this second return is when the wicked will see Jesus and be destroyed, according to LaHaye, Jenkins and their cohorts. Generally speaking, their doctrine professes that Jesus’ first return is only for the saints, and His second return is when He deals with the wicked. This contemporary secret rapture teaching has no biblical foundation whatsoever. In fact, there are numerous scriptures that clearly and completely contradict this doctrine.

When Jesus returns it will not be a secret, quiet or invisible event to the world. The Bible says that every eye will see Him; moreover, it states that there will be a “shout” and the great sound of a trumpet (Revelation 1:7; 1st Thessalonians 4:16-17; Matthew 24:30-31). Furthermore, the Bible teaches that Jesus only has one return, not two. Scripture plainly states that the same return of Jesus that gathers the saints and gives them rest, also causes the wicked tribes on earth to mourn, and brings destruction upon them (Matthew 24:29-31; 2nd Thessalonians 1:6-10); “one return”, not two returns. And, the Bible clearly reveals that the saints are not raptured home to heaven before the arrival of the antichrist and the great tribulation period on earth. 2nd Thessalonians 2:1-10 states that the saints are not gathered to Jesus until after the antichrist arises with power, signs and lying wonders. Luke 21:25-31 and Matthew 24:29-33 also say that the gathering of the saints happens after the great tribulation events, such as the sun being darkened, the moon not giving light, the stars falling from heaven, the powers of the heavens being shaken, the sea and waves roaring, the distress of nations, and men’s hearts failing for fear. The secret rapture doctrine being taught by contemporary ministers is a total fabrication of men that contradicts numerous scriptures. I encourage you to read my article titled, “The Secret Rapture”, on this website for a more complete listing of scriptures that debunk this unbiblical and dangerous teaching.

Why do I call it a dangerous teaching? It is dangerous because it tells people that they will have a second chance to “get ready” for the return of Jesus. According to this doctrine, if you are not ready to go home with Jesus when He comes the first time, you can simply catch Him on the rebound when He comes the second time. Therefore, it eliminates the importance and urgency of making your decision for Jesus now. Sinful human beings already have a problem with procrastination. The last thing they need to hear is a message that tells them that they’ll have the opportunity to make their commitment to Jesus after they see the miraculous disappearance of their Christian friends and loved ones. It allows them to think that they can wait to surrender their lives until after they see these dramatic events unfold. How many will procrastinate and be lost because of this theological misinformation being dispensed by modern preachers?

You know that Babylon is fallen when Christian churches and bookstores participate in the distribution of a so-called “Christian” video game called “Left Behind: Eternal Forces”, in which Christian children actually have the option to kill their non-Christian enemies. The game setting is during the days of the end-time great tribulation. Perhaps those distributing this game think that it is alright to give Christian children the option to kill their enemies, because the game penalizes them by causing the “spirit level” of their character to drop. What a concept to teach our children; you can kill and only suffer the loss of some of your spirituality! Furthermore, this “Christian game” has a multiplayer feature that allows you to be on the side of the enemy. So, our Christian kids can choose to be on the side of the antichrist and kill Christians! Maybe I’m kind of “biblically old-fashioned”, but I don’t consider this to be acceptable Christian entertainment; I consider it to be an abomination. Is Babylon not fallen when such things are embraced and endorsed by Christian churches and bookstores, and are considered to be proper entertainment for Christian children?

You know that Babylon is fallen when today’s preachers and theologians, who should be the ones defending God’s merciful, just and loving character, instead slander His character through the proclamation of unbiblical, sadistic doctrines. The Christian Church continues to accept the cruel and revolting teachings of Calvinism as being acceptable Christian doctrine within so-called mainstream Christianity. Calvinist preachers teach that God creates billions of people with a one-way ticket to hell, where they say that He will torment them in the fires of hell throughout the trillions of years of eternity. Remember, Jesus taught that many” are going to hell, and only few” are going to heaven (Matthew 7:13-14). Also remember, Calvinism professes that these many, who are going to hell, are given no opportunity to be saved and to avoid their horrid and painful eternal fate. Therefore, this sadistic doctrine portrays our Christian God as creating the vast majority of people for the sole purpose of torturing them in the hell fire day after day, year after year, millennium after millennium, forever and ever, without end. Calvinists teach this despicable dogma, in spite of the fact that the Bible clearly states that God wants all men” to be saved, and wants all” to come to repentance, because He is not willing that any perish (1st Timothy 2:4; 2nd Peter 3:9). And, there are scores of other biblical texts that also contradict the sadistic teachings of Calvinism, which you can read in my article titled “Calvinism” on this website. The biblical evidence that contradicts this cruel doctrine is truly massive and overwhelming. Yet, Calvinist ministers persist in slandering the character of our God, and of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Moreover, the hierarchy of the Christian Church allows them to perpetrate this slander while calling it acceptable Christian doctrine. With such slander of our God and Lord being accepted and endorsed within the Church, has Babylon not fallen?

In addition to the massive biblical evidence presented in my “Calvinism” article, true Christians should certainly know in their own hearts that Jesus does not intentionally create 70, 80 or 90 percent of people with their only possible future being to be tortured in hell throughout the trillions of years of eternity. If you have five children, do you really think that Jesus has predestined and preprogrammed three of them to go to hell, without giving them any opportunity to avoid their agonizing fate, regardless of how many Bible stories you read them or how many prayers that you pray for them?

You know that Babylon is fallen when yet another unbiblical and slanderous doctrine is also accepted and endorsed by the vast majority of Christian pastors, theologians and denominations. Although there are hundreds of plainly stated authoritative scriptures that say that the final fate of lost human beings is “death”, notwithstanding, church leaders insist on teaching that the lost will live forever in hell’s tormenting flames, writhing in agony throughout the trillions of years of eternity. Once again, they ignore the overwhelming weight of biblical evidence, and cling to a few texts that they embellish, stretch and manipulate in order to hold onto this sadistic doctrine. Although the Scriptures state that eternal life is only attained through faith in Jesus Christ, yet most preachers insist that the wicked also have somehow “tapped into” an eternal life that allows them to live forever in hell. Although the original Greek word, “apollumi”, used in the New Testament to describe the final fate of the lost, and the original Hebrew word, “shamad”, used in the Old Testament to describe the final fate of the lost; although both of these words mean to be destroyed, annihilated, and to perish; and although they are never used to describe eternal torment, such as is taught by most church leaders; nevertheless, church leaders stubbornly and arrogantly defy and resist the clear teaching of the Bible, and continue to persist in teaching their own manmade opinions and traditions. I encourage you to read my article titled “Hell” on this website to read the voluminous scriptural evidence that refutes and disproves the Church’s “eternal torment” doctrine. The amount of biblical evidence is so overwhelming that it is mind boggling how preachers can ignore it, and continue to choose to slander the character of our God and Lord. As I point out in my article, if hell was limited to a duration of just one trillion years, based on an average life span of 75 years, God would be punishing people with 30,000 years of torment in hell’s flames for every minute that they lived on earth; that’s extending 14 billion units of punishment for every unit of disobedience. If any human judge issued that kind of inequitable punishment, he would be denounced. Yet, Christian preachers are slandering the character of our kind and merciful Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, who the Scriptures state is the Judge, by accusing Him of practicing the most inequitable form of justice and punishment that has ever been done in the history of the universe. When the leaders of Jesus’ Church slander His character to such an extent, has Babylon not fallen?

In addition to the great amount of biblical evidence presented in my “Hell” article, as with the subject of Calvinism, I would also like you to think about the hell doctrine on a personal level. Do you really think that the merciful, just and loving Jesus that we read about in the Bible, would torment your sixteen year-old son or daughter, who died in a car accident before placing their faith in Jesus Christ, right alongside Satan himself in hell’s fire throughout the trillions of years of eternity? Do you think that Jesus would give your child the same eternal sentence in hell’s flames as Hitler and Stalin, who tortured and murdered millions of people? It defies all common sense, logic and justice; and, of greatest importance, it contradicts Scripture.

You know that Babylon is fallen when the Christian Church submits to the will of the radical feminist movement instead of the will of God clearly revealed in the Bible. The past few decades have seen denomination after denomination compromise with the feminist agenda. Unbiblical rationales and arguments based on supposed “customs of the times” have been used to supplant authoritative and plainly stated scriptures. Even the “mother god” concept found in paganism has begun to seep into some professed Christian denominations, and, we should not be surprised, because one compromise usually leads to another compromise more severe than the first one. I ask you to read my article titled “Women Elders and Pastors” on this website to read numerous scriptures that expose the Church’s compromises on this issue. You will find the biblical evidence to be compelling.

You know that Babylon is fallen when professed Christian ministers trample on God’s law and encourage their congregations to do so as well. Some preachers have the audacity to suggest that God’s Ten Commandment law was nailed to the cross of Jesus and abolished. However, the Book of Psalms repeatedly states that God’s law endures forever. And, numerous other Bible writers also state that God’s law is still important and in force. I suggest that you read my article titled “The Ten Commandments” on this website, where you will find dozens of scriptures that declare the perpetuity of God’s law.

And, although only a relatively small percentage of ministers proclaim that the Ten Commandments as a whole have been abolished, yet, the vast majority of contemporary preachers openly and unabashedly trample on the fourth commandment regarding God’s seventh-day Sabbath (Saturday). The commandment plainly states: “Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy. Six days you shall labor and do all your work, but the seventh day” is the Sabbath of the Lord your God. In it you shall do no work: you, nor your son, nor your daughter, nor your male servant, nor your female servant, nor your cattle, nor your stranger who is within your gates. For in six days the Lord made the heavens and the earth, the sea and all that is in them, and rested the seventh day. Therefore, the Lord blessed the Sabbath day and hallowed it.

The commandment is exceedingly clear. It does not say that man can pick any day of the week that he chooses, as modern preachers tell their congregations; to the contrary, it says that God “blessed and hallowed” (made holy) the seventh day (Saturday). And, it plainly states that we are to keep it holy, and to refrain from our normal work routines on the seventh day. We must choose between believing and obeying fallible men spouting out their own opinions and traditions, or believing our righteous and holy God who could not have spoken the fourth commandment any clearer than He did.

In addition to the fourth commandment from the book of Exodus listed above, I will share just a few other scriptures related to the Sabbath at this time. For a complete and extensive listing of Sabbath texts, please read my article titled “Sabbath” on this website.

In Psalm 119:111, the Psalmist proclaimed that he had taken God’s “testimonies” as a heritage forever. The Hebrew word used for testimonies is “eduwth”. According to “Strong’s Expanded Exhaustive Concordance”, this Hebrew word refers to the “Ten Commandments” as being a solemn, divine charge or duty. In other words, Psalm 119:111 is literally stating that the solemn, divine charge of the Ten Commandments is a heritage forever! And, the seventh-day Sabbath is undeniably one of the Ten Commandments. Therefore, the seventh-day Sabbath commandment is also a solemn, divine charge and a heritage forever.

In Psalm 119:44 the Psalmist declared that he would keep God’s “law” continually, forever and ever. The Hebrew word used for “law” in this text is “torah”, which according to “Strong’s Expanded Exhaustive Concordance”, especially refers to the Decalogue, the “Ten Commandments”. According to this Scripture, the Ten Commandments were to be kept continually, forever and ever. Therefore, the seventh-day Sabbath commandment, which is indisputably one of the Ten Commandments, was also obviously intended to be kept continually, forever and ever.

In Matthew 5:17-18, Jesus said that He did not come to destroy the law; in fact, He stated that heaven and earth would pass away before one jot or one tittle (least little bit) passed from the law. The seventh-day Sabbath commandment was unarguably a part of God’s law, so, according to Jesus, not one “least little bit” has passed or changed regarding the seventh-day Sabbath.

We also see, in Mark 7:6-13, what Jesus thinks of men ignoring one of God’s commandments, in order to establish or honor a tradition of men. When the religious leaders of Jesus’ day were ignoring God’s commandment to honor their parents, in order to practice a man-made tradition, He accused them of vain worship, of teaching commandments of men, of rejecting God’s commandment in order to keep their own tradition, and of making the word of God of no effect.

If Jesus felt that way about ignoring one of God’s Ten Commandments back then, wouldn’t He feel the same way today? Remember, according to the Bible, He does not change (Hebrews 13:8; Malachi 3:6). If it was “vain” or “worthless” worship to replace one of God’s Ten Commandments with an unauthorized tradition back then, wouldn’t it also be “vain” or “worthless” worship to replace God’s Sabbath commandment with the unauthorized tradition of Sunday-keeping today? The answer is obvious. Today’s religious leaders who advocate disregarding the Sabbath, are just as guilty as the religious leaders who disregarded the commandment to “honor your parents” in Jesus’ day.

In John 15:22, Jesus stated that, if He had not spoken the truth unto the people, they would not have had any sin; however, Jesus said that, after they had heard the truth, they had no “cloak” or excuse for their sin. It is significant that the Bible defines sin as being “transgression of the law” in 1st John 3:4. Therefore, applying the biblical definition for sin, when Jesus states that, “once He reveals the truth to us, we have no excuse for sinning”; then, according to the Bible’s definition of sin, Jesus is saying that we have no excuse for “transgressing the law”. And, the Sabbath commandment is one of God’s Ten Commandment laws. Therefore, once we know the biblical truth about the Sabbath Command, we have no excuse for transgressing God’s Sabbath law. We either choose to obey it or to transgress it. And, if we choose to transgress it, we are committing sin according to 1st John 3:4.

You may think that I’m sounding too blunt. You may want to remind me that we are “under grace” in the New Testament. Also, you may want to remind me that the Apostle Paul states that “love is the fulfillment of the law”, in Romans 13:10. Does true love for God cause us to transgress God’s commandments? In John 14:15, Jesus said: “If you love Me, keep My commandments”, not transgress them. Likewise, in 1st John 5:3, the Bible states: “This is the love of God, that we keep His commandments”, not break them. And, concerning us being “under grace” in the New Testament, in Romans 6:1 the Apostle Paul asks the question: “Shall we continue in sin (which is transgressing the law, according to 1st John 3:4) that grace may abound?” He then emphatically answers this question by saying: “Certainly not” or “God Forbid” (Romans 6:2).

Regarding the line of thought mentioned in the preceding paragraph, I would like to ask you a couple of questions. Would it be alright for you to commit adultery, dishonesty, murder or theft on a weekly basis, because you are “under grace” and because love is the fulfillment of the law? Would it be alright for you to bow down to idols and to use the Lord’s name in vain on a weekly basis, because you are “under grace” and because love is the fulfillment of the law? You know that your answer to these questions would be a resounding and emphatic NO! You would not think that it is ok to regularly break any of the other Ten Commandments for either of these reasons. Then, why should you think that it’s alright for you to disobey and dishonor God’s Sabbath commandment on a weekly basis for the same reasons; that you are “under grace” and because love is the fulfillment of the law?  To do so would be an obvious and blatant double standard. After all, God Himself chose, blessed, hallowed and sanctified the seventh day, and He has commanded you to remember it and to keep it holy. We must remember that James 2:10-12 teaches that, if we break one of God’s Ten Commandments, we are guilty of breaking all of them. Why? Because it is God’s law, not ours; He chose the laws that He wanted, and we do not have the prerogative to pick and choose which ones are important, because we are not God. He is! Our responsibility is to obey, not to question God’s judgment regarding His choice of commandments. It is also noteworthy that this passage in James tells us that we will be “judged” by God’s Ten Commandment law. God obviously takes His laws and commandments seriously, and it would be a good idea for us to do so as well.

My article titled, “Sabbath”, presents numerous scriptures revealing that the seventh-day Sabbath (Saturday) has always been directly related to Jesus Christ Himself. Jesus instituted it, blessed it, sanctified it, hallowed it and kept it Himself. And, in my Sabbath article, I list many New Testament texts that endorse the seventh-day Sabbath, in addition to numerous Old Testament passages. The volume of biblical evidence is staggering.

The seventh-day Sabbath (Saturday) is commanded, blessed or endorsed more than 100 times in the Bible, while the first day of the week, Sunday, is not commanded blessed or endorsed one single time in all of Scripture! The weak, unbiblical and deceitful arguments, which are given by ministers for justifying disobedience to God’s plainly stated Sabbath commandment, are truly pathetic. I thoroughly and biblically refute all 18 of the most common reasons/excuses given by today’s preachers in the article I referred to previously titled “Sabbath” on this website. The evidence exposing and debunking the Sunday fabrications and manipulations being taught by professed Christian preachers is beyond overwhelming. You will be amazed!

In summation, when the Church pampers itself with worldly luxuries instead of saving starving children; when the Church employs 2000 percent profit margins on the gospel; when the Church exalts men with religious titles in defiance of Jesus; when the Church’s ministers have the audacity to place their names on the Holy Bible; when the Church builds graven images to preachers; when the Church ordains homosexual ministers and performs homosexual weddings and civil unions, blessing what God has called an abomination; when the Church appoints worshippers of false gods to head its religion departments; when the Church teaches evolution over biblical creation; when those in the Church live just as sinfully as those in the world; when the Church sings lullabies of seeker sensitive manmade doctrines to its spiritually lazy and slumbering congregations; when the Church embraces dangerous and unbiblical doctrines that tell people they’ll have a second chance to be saved after Jesus returns; when the Church, in the name of Christian entertainment, markets video games that allow Christian children to kill their non-Christian enemies, or to opt to be on the side of the antichrist’s forces and kill Christians; when the Church tramples on God’s law in order to teach opinions and traditions of men; when the Church submits to the radical feminist movement instead of submitting to clear and authoritative scriptural mandates; when the Church insists on slandering the character of our God and Lord by preaching sadistic doctrines of unconditional and unchangeable predestined sentences to hell for the vast majority of people, and of the eternal torment of human beings in hell’s flames, in spite of the fact that these cruel dogmas are contradicted by the overwhelming weight of biblical evidence; when all these conditions of spiritual compromise and degradation exist within today’s professed Christian churches; then the evidence is clear that Babylon (the contemporary Christian Church) has fallen indeed.

How did all of this happen? It has happened one compromise at a time. Sin is a “spiritual cancer”. We all know that you cannot compromise with the physical disease of cancer. Physicians always try to remove 100 percent of the cancer if at all possible. Why? Because, if they compromise with it by leaving a small part of the cancer to remain, they know that it will continue to spread until it has metastasized to such a point that it brings death to the patient.

If only our contemporary “spiritual physicians”, today’s Christian ministers, were as wise and vigilant in dealing with the spiritual cancer of sin, as medical doctors are when dealing with the physical disease of cancer. Unfortunately, the modern clergy has committed compromise after compromise when it comes to scriptural truth. They have repeatedly allowed their own human opinions and denominational traditions to outweigh and prevail over the clear and authoritative teachings in the Bible, as is thoroughly documented in the articles on this website. Thus, the spiritual cancer of sin has indeed metastasized in the Church to the point of no return. Today’s Christian leaders refuse to accept biblical reproof or correction. They marginalize and label those who reveal their compromises and sins as being “legalists” or “cultic”, rather than humbly receiving biblical correction and coming to repentance.

Although our natural inclination is to look to our religious leaders for spiritual insight and direction, we should not be surprised to find them adrift in compromise and sin. The Bible reveals that the religious hierarchy has gone astray throughout biblical history. There has been a long line of unfaithful and disobedient priests, prophets, apostles, teachers and ministers throughout both Old and New Testament times; furthermore, we are told that this problem will continue to worsen as we approach the end of time.

Jesus called the Pharisees, who were church leaders of His day, blind leaders and blind guides (Matthew 15:12-14; Matthew 23:16-26). He also warned of false prophets down through the ages (Matthew 7:13-20; Matthew 24:11; Matthew 24:24).

The Apostle Paul spoke of false apostles and of Satan having ministers who pretend to be ministers of righteousness in 2nd Corinthians 11:13-15. We are also forewarned of false teachers by the Apostle Peter (2nd Peter 2:1-3). And, in 2nd Timothy 3:13, we are admonished that “impostors” will grow worse and worse.

The prophet Jeremiah states that God’s people became lost sheep because the “shepherds” led them astray (Jeremiah 50:6). In Lamentations 2:14, he also said that the prophets were guilty of giving false visions, prophecies and delusions, instead of revealing the peoples iniquity (sins).

In the book of Isaiah, the prophets and elders are accused of “teaching lies”, thus causing God’s people to err and be destroyed (Isaiah 9:14-16). Isaiah also states that beasts were able to devour God’s people because the “watchmen” (leaders) were ignorant, greedy and blind; he says that they were like “dumb dogs” who don’t bark to give the necessary warnings (Isaiah 56:9-11). What good are physical watchdogs who are blind, not seeing the dangers threatening the “flock”; and who are lazy, not exerting the effort to warn the flock; and who are dumb, unable to bark so that the flock can hear the needed warnings? Likewise, what good are spiritual watchmen who are spiritually blind, not seeing the spiritual perils that threaten God’s people; and who are too spiritually lazy to study God’s word so that they can “rightly divide the word of truth” to their congregations; and who are “spiritually dumb”, not proclaiming the needed messages of warning and reproof, urgently calling God’s people to repentance?

The prophet Ezekiel declared that God’s shepherds “fed themselves” instead of caring for the needs of the flock (Ezekiel 34:2; Ezekiel 34:6-10). And, in Ezekiel 34:10, God solemnly states that He will require the flock at their hand. In other words, God will hold His unfaithful shepherds personally responsible and accountable for those in their flocks who are lost because of their unfaithful shepherding and leadership! This passage in Ezekiel and the earlier text in Isaiah 9:14-16, both indicate that God’s people can be led into error and end up being lost and destroyed because of following wayward shepherds, elders and leaders. This should serve as a “wakeup call” to lazy Christians who have been blindly following everything their ministers tell them, and who have not been reading their Bibles for themselves. If your minister is not teaching biblical truth, and you are accepting everything he teaches, you could wind up being one of the lost sheep that will be required at his hand, as stated in Ezekiel 34:10.

As you can see, the Bible clearly chronicles a history of frequent unfaithfulness by church leaders in both Old and New Testament times. It speaks of blind guides and blind watchmen who lead the people astray. It tells of unfaithful shepherds who teach lies and delusions, instead of revealing the people’s sins. It refers to leaders who are like dumb watchdogs who don’t bark to give the needed warnings. It warns of false prophets, false apostles, false teachers and ministers of Satan pretending to be ministers of righteousness.

However, even more concerning, the Bible tells us that these problems will intensify as time continues. Therefore, we can expect an even greater problem today with unfaithful leaders. As the Apostle Paul wrote in 2nd Timothy 3:13: “Impostors will grow worse and worse, deceiving and being deceived.” Moreover, in today’s Church, we do not have faithful prophets and apostles like Jeremiah, Isaiah, Ezekiel, Peter and Paul to boldly sound the alarm, warning us of these dangers. However, we do have the Holy Bible. And, we need to thoroughly acquaint ourselves with that divinely inspired book to safeguard ourselves from deception and error.

We have certainly arrived at the time referred to by the Apostle Paul in 2nd Timothy 4:2-4, where Paul stated that “the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine………and they will turn their ears away from the truth, and be turned aside to fables”. This article and this website clearly reveal that we are living in the days foretold by Paul, the days of doctrinal fables and of the rejection of scriptural truth.

This brings us back to Revelation 18:1-5, where God’s messenger proclaims that Babylon (the contemporary Church) has fallen; and, in particular, to the command in Revelation 18:4: “Come out of her, my people, lest you share in her sins, and lest you receive of her plagues.

In 2nd Corinthians 6:14, the Bible states: “Do not be unequally yoked together with unbelievers. For what fellowship has righteousness with lawlessness? And what communion has light with darkness?” You have seen the evidence. The contemporary Christian Church has abandoned the light of scriptural truth, and has replaced it with the darkness of human opinions and traditions.

Now, it’s up to you. Will you obey God or men? I hope and pray that you will determine to be as noble and faithful as the disciples were in confronting the wayward church leaders of their day, when they declared: “We ought to obey God rather than men” (Acts 5:29).

Jesus stated that no man can serve two masters (Matthew 6:24). He also said that, if we love our father, mother, son or daughter more than Him, then we are not worthy of Him (Matthew 10:37). If that is true regarding the closest and strongest human ties with our immediate family members, it would certainly also be true for our relationships with our pastors, denominations and local church families.

You are at a critical “fork in the road”, concerning your personal relationship with Jesus and His Holy Scriptures. Are you going to obey Jesus and the Bible, or your church’s traditions? Are you going to obey Jesus and the Bible, or your pastor’s opinions? Who has your heart? Who do you love most? Who will you honor and obey?

Does God require you to be obedient?  The Bible tells us to be “doers” of the word, and not just hearers (James 1:22-25).  It says that our “doing” or obedience is proof that we have a living faith (James 2:20).  Scripture also states that our obedience is proof of our “friendship” with Jesus (John 15:14).  And, the Bible declares that our obedience proves that we know and love Him (1st John 2:3-4; John 14:15; 1st John 5:3).

Jesus said that, if we don’t obey Him, we should not even call Him our Lord (Luke 6:46).  And, Scripture states that God only gives His Holy Spirit to those who do obey Him (Acts 5:32).  Also, the Bible says that God’s “end-time people” will be distinguished by keeping God’s commandments (Revelation 12:17; Revelation 14:12); moreover, the Apostle John stated that anyone who claims to know Jesus, but does not keep His commandments, is a liar (1st John 2:4).  Plus, Jesus declared that only those who do God’s will, which is obedience, can enter the kingdom of heaven (Matthew 7:21).  Furthermore, God’s Word states that Jesus offers His eternal salvation to those who obey Him (Hebrews 5:9).

Solomon sums things up by saying that the conclusion of the whole matter is that we need to “fear God and keep His commandments, for this is the whole duty of man” (Ecclesiastes 12:13-14). So, yes, I think we can safely say that God does indeed require obedience.

The truth of the matter is, if we truly love Jesus and His word supremely, rather than making excuses for our wayward pastors and congregations, and clinging to them in spite of their scriptural errors, we should be filled with righteous indignation and grief over their infidelity to our Lord and His Holy Scriptures. Note the following verses from the Book of Psalms, which display that kind of appropriate zeal for God’s word. In all three passages, the original word translated as “law” is the Hebrew word, torah. This is the word that the Strong’s Expanded Exhaustive Concordance states, especially refers to the Decalogue (Ten Commandments). As noted previously, one of those Ten Commandments indisputably was and is the seventh-day Sabbath command. Therefore, the following Psalms texts demonstrate how we should view and respond to those who ignore and disobey God’s Sabbath commandment, as well as the other nine commandments.

The Psalmist stated: “Rivers of water run down from my eyes, because men do not keep your law” (Psalms 119:136). He also said: “Indignation has taken hold of me because of the “wicked” who forsake Your law” (Psalm 119:53). Did you notice that God depicts those who depart from His Ten Commandments as being wicked? And, in Psalm 119:126, the Psalmist declares: “It is time for You to act, O Lord, for they have regarded Your law as void.” His passion for God’s word caused Him to request God to take action against those who rejected the law. The Psalmist did not make excuses for those who disobeyed God’s law, but rather he was grieved and moved with righteous indignation against them. If we truly love Jesus and His Holy Scriptures, this will also be our response when we see others willfully and blatantly trample upon them.

It is time to sound the call: “Come out of her (the contemporary Church) my people, lest you share in her sins, and lest you receive of her plagues” (Revelation 18:4). Do not be deceived or dissuaded by the large numbers who reject the biblical truths that are presented in this article and on this website. Biblical history reveals that the majority of people have been wrong the majority of the time. Only eight people got on Noah’s ark. In the days of Elijah the prophet, we’re told that only 7000 had not bowed the knee to the idol Baal, which would probably have been less than one percent of Israel’s population. And, even after the three year ministry of the greatest preacher, teacher and prophet in the history of the world, Jesus Christ, there were only 120 believers in the upper room before Pentecost. We must also remember that Jesus Himself said that only “few” will go through the narrow gate to heaven, whereas “many” will go through the wide gate to hell. So, if you’re following the large numbers, you’re probably headed in the wrong biblical direction.

It is also necessary to issue another caution. Don’t be impressed by today’s religious schools and famous theologians with impressive, religious titles, but compare everything they teach with Scripture, as the New Testament book of Acts records was done by the noble Christians in Berea (Acts 17:10-11). The Bible commends them for searching the Scriptures to see if Paul’s teachings were correct. If it was a good idea to check out Paul’s teaching, and he wrote half of the New Testament, how much more important is it to check out the teachings of modern pastors and theologians who are not worthy to even be compared with the Apostle Paul?

We must also remember that the vast majority of “respected” church leaders in Jesus’ day were in error. They had graduated from the respected religious schools of their day, and had received the respected religious titles of rabbi, teacher, scribe, lawyer, priest etc., but their teachings were steeped in human opinions and traditions, and were not in harmony with God’s word. Therefore, they were challenged, corrected and “schooled” by Jesus’ disciples, unlearned fishermen who had spent much personal time with Jesus and His word.

God is calling the same kind of humble, ordinary people today to once again challenge and correct an arrogant, stubborn and wayward religious hierarchy in the contemporary Christian Church. The Bible is clear that God does “not” use the highly educated and theologically famous, but rather those who are unimpressive, unrenowned and who are regarded as foolish by the “religious big shots” (1st Corinthians 1:26-29). In other words, God uses people like you and I. It is time to come out of Babylon and to make your stand for Jesus Christ and the scriptural truths in His Holy Bible.

I feel compelled to end this article with a warning for contemporary Christian pastors and theologians who are guilty of the compromises, infidelity and disobedience to Scripture revealed in this article and on this website. If you’re one of those preachers who not only tramples on God’s Sabbath commandment yourself, but also tells your congregation, whom God has entrusted to your “watch-care”, that they also can ignore God’s Sabbath commandment, you will answer to God.

The Bible states that teachers will receive a “stricter judgment” (James 3:1). Jesus said that it is better for you to have a millstone hung around your neck and be thrown into the sea, than to cause others to stumble (Matthew 18:6; Luke 17:2). The Scriptures declare that God’s “watchmen”, who do not warn sinners from their wicked ways, will have the blood of the lost sinners required at their hands (Ezekiel 3:17-21). Ezekiel 34:10 also states that God will require His lost flock at the hands of His unfaithful shepherds. And, this theme, of God’s ministers bearing the “blood guilt” of lost sinners, is not just an Old Testament theme. The Apostle Paul also reiterates this theme in the New Testament when he proclaims: “Therefore, I testify to you this day that I am innocent of the blood of all men. For I have not shunned to declare the whole counsel of God” (Acts 20:26-27). In this “New Testament” passage, Paul plainly states that he did not bear any “blood guilt” because he preached the “whole truth” to the people. In other words, if he had not preached the whole truth to them, he would have been held guilty or accountable for their blood. I pray that this will serve as a “wake-up” call for modern ministers who are not preaching the whole biblical truth to their congregations. They will be held accountable for the blood of those who are lost in their churches.

Malachi 2:7-8 declares: “The lips of a priest (minister) should keep knowledge, and people should seek the “law” from his mouth; for he is the messenger of the Lord of hosts. But you have departed from the way; you have caused many to stumble at the law.” Once again, the original Hebrew word translated as law in this passage is “torah”, which the Strong’s Expanded Exhaustive Concordance states “especially refers to the Decalogue” (Ten Commandments). And, we know that the seventh-day Sabbath is one of the Ten Commandments. Therefore, this text in Malachi is stating that God’s people should be hearing their ministers and pastors proclaiming the biblical, seventh-day Sabbath, not ignoring and disobeying it and encouraging their congregations to do so as well. The Scriptures plainly say that, as professed ministers of Jesus Christ, you are to be speaking and upholding God’s law, not trampling upon it. Furthermore, the Bible also states that if you do not speak in accordance with God’s “torah law”, then there is no light in you (Isaiah 8:20). These are God’s words, not mine.

It would be good for my fellow pastors and theologians to remember that the “New Testament” book of James reveals that we will be judged by the Ten Commandment law (James 2:10-12). It would also be good to remember that the Book of Psalms describes those who forsake or stray from God’s law and commandments as being wicked, proud and cursed (Psalm 119:21; Psalm 119:53). Once again, these are God’s words, not mine. And, before you try to discount these two passages from Psalms, by saying that these are “Old Testament” verses, you need to honestly ask yourself if you ever quote from other verses in the Book of Psalms when you preach or teach. If you do, then it would be blatant hypocrisy for you to ignore and disobey the Psalms texts that I’ve listed in this article, while quoting, teaching and preaching other passages from the Book of Psalms.

My fellow pastors, this is serious business. Do you really think that you can trample on one of God’s Ten Commandments, and get away with it? Do you really think that you can persist in slandering the character of our Lord and God through the proclamation of your Calvinism and “eternal torment” doctrines, and get away with it? Do you really think that you can build luxurious buildings, and pay yourselves “fat-cat” six and seven figure salaries while millions of children die from starvation, and get away with it?

The God of the Old Testament is also the God of the New Testament. He said: “I am the Lord, I do not change” (Malachi 3:6). The Bible states: “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever” (Hebrews 13:8). Therefore, if you do not repent, God will indeed require your lost congregations at your hands. The “New Testament” book of Hebrews proclaims: “For we know Him who said, vengeance is Mine, I will repay, says the Lord. And again, the Lord will judge His people. It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God” (Hebrews 10:30-31).

It is time for all sincere, Bible-believing Christians to come out of Babylon, and to make their stand for Jesus Christ and His Holy Scriptures. You are better off meeting in small groups in homes, and adhering to biblical truth, than to remain in the midst of churches mired in compromise, worldliness and disobedience to the Bible. The truth of the matter is that the healthiest and fastest growing churches in the world are found in other nations where the “home-church” movement is prevalent, such as in China. In fact, the spiritually powerful 1st century Christian Church was also predominantly comprised of “home churches”.

Yes, Babylon is fallen. So, come out of her my people, lest you share in her sins and receive her plagues.

I fully agree with you that the churches of today are the “Babylon” and the “great whore” spoken of in Revelation. I was reading 3 nights ago in Revelation when it fully hit me who she was. I had always assumed it meant the Catholic Church, but when I read this again, I knew it meant every church that rejected the commands from Christ to help the poor in order to decorate the buildings and create worldly luxury for themselves.
Rev. 18:11And the merchants of the earth shall weep and mourn over her; for no man buyeth their merchandise any more:
12The merchandise of gold, and silver, and precious stones, and of pearls, and fine linen, and purple, and silk, and scarlet, and all thyine wood, and all manner vessels of ivory, and all manner vessels of most precious wood, and of brass, and iron, and marble,
13And cinnamon, and odours, and ointments, and frankincense, and wine, and oil, and fine flour, and wheat, and beasts, and sheep, and horses, and chariots, and slaves, and souls of men.

I googled “church supplies” a few years ago, and came up with massive numbers of merchants who sell the draperies, alters, banners, wafers (fine flour and wheat), oil (anointing oils), wine, chalices, serving trays, etc., and was appalled at the amount of money spent on these things, while the poor go without. I personally had experience with this. I knew a man who had had a stroke, and desperately needed help with food, utilities, and rent while he recovered. I told him I would call the churches, and all he had to do was focus on getting better. I got home from the hospital, and began calling all the mega churches in my city. The first one I called was a new mega church which had just bought a $10,000 organ. I thought that if they can afford this, they will have the money to help a man who desperately needed help. Their first question of me was “Is he a member of this church?” when I said no, they said they could only help members of their own church, and if they helped everyone who asked, they would go broke. This was in direct disobedience to Jesus, Who said “Give to *every* man who asketh, and from him who would borrow, turn thou not away”. It was also calling my Lord Jesus a liar when He said “Give, and it shall be given; shaken down, pressed together, and running over”. I called 12 churches and “Christian” organizations that day, and got the same response from every one of them! My friend was not saved. No one had ever spoken to him of the love and provision of God, and after he saw the response from these churches, he felt like God had rejected him. He refused to allow me to speak of church or God after that. The help he did receive from our co-workers and company owners (in his eyes) came only from them. He couldn’t see how God worked through them. The churches had an opportunity to reach a soul, and they let him slip through due to their disobedience and lack of faith. Their materialism was worth more than reaching a soul for God.

I’ve been on “Christian” forums and tried to discuss this with others, and they ridiculed me, blatently ignored scriptures, made excuses, and called me a deceiver and evil for telling them they needed to leave churches like this, and turn to God for their understanding. No matter how man scriptures I would show them, their eyes were glued shut. Their man-made teachings and traditions are worth more to them than the word of God. It’s a bit lonely out here in the wilderness. I’ve lost “friends” for telling them the truth shown in scriptures. I’ve been ridiculed, shut out, shut down, and rejected. No one wants to know the truth, they just want to hold onto what “their church” teaches. I’d rather be in the wilderness with God, than be in the world with the churches of today. Thank you for posting this. It’s good to see others who see and aren’t afraid of speaking harsh truths.

    Hi Tammy,
Thanks for your comment. We are in complete agreement here. I hope you had a chance to read my article titled, “The Gospel For Sale”. Millions of children throughout the world starve to death, and hundreds of thousands of homeless Americans eat out of garbage cans, while America’s contemporary “version” of Christianity builds mega churches costing multiplied millions of dollars.

Hi Henry, no, I haven’t read it yet, but I will! You have many articles here that have been holding my interest :)

God called me out of the “church scene” about 2 years ago when I got frustrated seeing so many denominations all claiming to be “right” and follow the bible, but all preaching and teaching different things. I broke down into tears one day, and promised God that I would reject all man-made teachings, traditions, beliefs, and ideas, if only He would show me His Truth, His way, His understanding…and WHAT a journey He has taken me on! :) He started showing me all the “wrongness” in the churches today, and when I got a bit lonely and wanted a “church family” again, He said “I didn’t bring you out of that for you to go back into it”. So, as much as I love wolves, I won’t be crawling back into the dens with them :) My God has shown me so many wonderful, awesome things in scriptures that I had never seen before…so many types and shadows that my natural eyes wouldn’t have been able to see had I still been listening to men. Layer upon layer, message upon message…the mysteries and hidden treasures of God :)
